Our Bottle: Forged in Fire, Built for the Bold

The Point Blank bottle doesn’t ask for attention. It demands it. Custom-designed, forged in fire, and crafted from 100 percent recycled glass, every bottle is a symbol of who we are: sustainable, authentic, and unforgettable.

Inspired by the old-school pachita — a slim, portable Mexican flask once tucked into satchels and saddlebags — the Point Blank bottle pays homage to heritage while embracing modern craftsmanship. Its clean lines and square silhouette feel both familiar and unexpected. Easy to hold. Effortless to pour. Impossible to miss.

Nothing to Hide

The creation of the Point Blank bottle began with a bold vision from our founding team: Andrew Summersett, Bill Foss, and Jeff Foss.

“We wanted something completely unique, a bottle we hadn’t seen before,” Summersett said.  “We went through many iterations — colors, shapes, styles. Ultimately, we chose clear glass to show the true color of the tequila. Transparency is key to our brand — literally and figuratively.”

That choice was more than aesthetic. In an industry where green or blue glass might suggest a need to hide something, we wanted to highlight the purity of Point Blank in full view. This commitment to authenticity is at the core of everything we do: no additives, no dyes, no filters. Just pure, beautifully crafted spirit.

A Nod to Heritage

The Point Blank bottle is inspired, in part, by the pachita — an old-school Mexican bottle traditionally used for carrying mezcal or tequila. Slim, flask-like, and designed for easy transport, the pachita was a trusted companion — tucked into satchels, jacket pockets, or saddle bags.  Rooted in utility and legacy, the pachita represents a rugged, authentic piece of Mexican drinking culture.

“Our bottle pays homage to that form,” Summersett said. “It’s a modern take on the pachita — almost like a big flask. We created something with that same feel: square, slender, and built to fit naturally in your hand. It’s got that rustic, Mexican heritage vibe, but also reflects the character and grit of the American South.”

The result is a tactile, intentional design that feels just as right behind a bar in Austin as it does in a cantina in Jalisco.

Where the Bottle Takes Shape

With the vision set — a bold, clear bottle inspired by the pachita and built to carry nothing but the purest agave — the next step was bringing it to life.

To match a design rooted in heritage and innovation, we needed a partner who understood the precision of modern glassmaking and the soul of traditional craftsmanship — all with a shared commitment to sustainability.

That place was Fusion y Formas, a state-of-the-art glassmaking facility in Guadalajara, Mexico. This is where the Point Blank bottle takes its first breath — in the heat of the furnace, where raw elements are melted down and reshaped into something extraordinary.

Inside the glowing core of the glass factory, a gob feeder drops molten glass  —  made from 100 percent post-consumer recycled material — into a fully custom mold, one of the most complex bottle designs produced at the facility.

At a nearby sister site, the bottle closures are crafted using sustainable materials, including recycled metals, and the PB labels are made from recycled agave fiber — each element intentionally chosen to minimize environmental impact while maximizing integrity.

The finished product is more than packaging — it’s a physical expression of Point Blank Tequila: visually striking and environmentally responsible. The Point Blank bottle carries the rustic soul of tradition, the innovation of modern design, and the spirit of Mexico and the Southwest blended into one.

What’s on the outside is every bit as exceptional as what’s inside

Crafted by Fire, Finished by Hand

While the bottle’s form is born in the industrial heart of Guadalajara at Fusion y Formas — its soul is filled in Point Blank’s distillery in San Juanito de Escobedo.

Here, at Destiladora Agave Azul, the empty vessels arrive after being forged in flame. It’s in this quiet countryside that our juice — meticulously distilled by Zandra Gomez Santiago, 2024’s Best Woman Distiller — is finally united with its home.

A small but mighty team fills the bottles, hand-applies the labels, and meticulously places and seals the closures. The entire process is intimate and intentional. Nothing is rushed. Nothing is outsourced. This isn’t just bottling — it’s a ritual.

“It’s incredibly labor-intensive,” Summersett said. “But that’s the point. Every hand that touches a Point Blank bottle leaves a fingerprint of pride.”

Why It Matters

In a world full of fast, Point Blank takes it slow. The Point Blank bottle isn’t just unique — it’s deliberate. From the recycled materials to the custom mold, everything about it reflects our values: authenticity, sustainability, heritage, and grit.

It tells a story before the first pour. A story of old traditions reimagined, of people who believe that how something is made matters just as much as what it is.

It’s not just what holds the tequila. It’s what carries the spirit of everything we stand for.
