Point Blank Tequila couldn’t have asked for a better backdrop for its first public pour.
On Saturday, September 13, Point Blank stepped into the spotlight for the first time at Taylor Sheridan’s Bosque Ranch Live, where guests were treated to a tequila tasting experience as bold and unforgettable as the event and the land itself.
As the exclusive tequila sponsor for Bosque Ranch Live — the inaugural music event hosted by Sheridan, a legendary filmmaker, at his sprawling North Texas Ranch — Point Blank brought its signature spirits to an audience that values authenticity and ambition.
“You don’t fake it out here. Not the music, not the cowboys, not the stories, and definitely not the tequila,” said Andrew Summersett, co-founder of Point Blank Tequila. “It was the perfect place to introduce Point Blank — 100 percent pure, no additives, no pretenses. Just truth in a bottle.”
The Music
During the all-day event, 500 guests enjoyed live music by rising country stars Drayton Farley, Kaitlin Butts, and Jackson Dean — artists whose songs have been featured in Sheridan’s hit shows, including Yellowstone and Landman.
The crowd was just as memorable, with country legend Randy Travis and actors Rob Kirkland and Laysla De Oliveira from Sheridan’s films in attendance. Beyond the stage, guests got a real taste of ranch life — from cutting horse demonstrations to world-class barbecue to guided Kubota RTV tours through the ranch’s stunning landscapes and iconic filming locations.
The Tasting
One of the highlights along the ranch tour was Point Blank’s tasting site, set against the backdrop of the movie set Lawmen: Bass Reeves, a Western drama miniseries about the true story of Bass Reeves, who was born into slavery and went on to become one of the first Black U.S. Deputy Marshals west of the Mississippi.
At this stop, guests enjoyed Point Blank’s three expressions — Blanco, Reposado, and Anejo — as co-founders Andrew Summersett, Jeff Foss, and other team members explained the craft and care that go into every bottle.
The Tequila
Point Blank is produced at Destiladora Agave Azul in San Juanito de Escobedo, Jalisco, a family-owned distillery where tradition, sustainability, and innovation come together to create a tequila of uncompromising quality.
Under the leadership of Master Distiller Zandra Gomez Santiago — named 2024 Best Woman Distiller by the Women’s International Wine & Spirits Competition — every step of the process is carefully overseen, from hand-harvesting Blue Weber agave at peak maturity, to slow cooking in traditional ovens, to natural fermentation for purity.
“There are no shortcuts,” Summersett said. “What’s poured in the glass is pure and timeless — exceptionally smooth tequila the way it was always meant to be.”
The Merch
Later in the day, a second tasting was added at the Point Blank merchandise gazebo, where guests could sample Point Blank Tequila while picking up hats, pins, and shirts — offering another opportunity to connect with the brand and commemorate the occasion.
“This was more than a debut,” Summersett said. “It was a celebration of truth, tradition, and storytelling — the very values that shape Point Blank Tequila and Taylor Sheridan’s Bosque Ranch Live. We were honored to be a part of it. We’re here to raise the bar.”
